Droneography (An Introduction to Drone Film and Photography)

Course Description

 

Are you interested in learning how to use your drone to shoot photos or video? Perhaps you have some experience but want to enhance your skill. This class is intended to help you produce a better final product through a better understanding of techniques and basic editing. The instructor will also provide feedback and cover basic rules and flight control. Intended for individuals who have a photo/video capable drone. (Note: if you do not own a drone but would like to purchase one prior to the class, we have made arrangements for purchase with Aaron’s Drones of Montana for a discounted price.  Contact Aaron Wilson at 406-373-8395).

Who Should Enroll

 

Anyone who owns a photo/video capable drone (DJI or Autel Robotics drones) or will purchase one prior to class date looking to enhance their skills. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Your Instructor

 

Theodore Hampton

Theodore is a recent graduate of Montana State University Billings majoring in Art. He has worked with a wide range of media, but focused mainly on Film and Photography. He currently works independently as a filmmaker and photographer, taking up projects ranging from family and business photos, to commercial work, to wedding films and design. In some of his larger projects and his own work, he uses a wide variety of tools, including professional level DJI drones.

10-11 Shooting Techniques
11-12:30 Practice Flying and Shooting Photos/Videos
12:30-1:30 Lunch on Your Own
1:30- 3:30 Review Work and Basic Editing

 

Suggested Minimum Equipment

 

4-prop drone that is photo/video capable (DJI or Autel Robotics drones). Instructor may be contacted by potential participants regarding use of a less capable drone.
