Join us for this fascinating look at Chinese Language and Culture. In this course you will be exposed to the unique features of Chinese culture and gain insights into the concepts and passions of the people and nation that has existed several thousand years. In addition to learning about cultural events and customs the use of some of the language will help you better understand this complex society.

Your instructor is visiting Chinese scholar Juan Zhao (who goes by the American name Annette). She is from the Shaanxi Province in China. She has a BA in English and a MA in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). She teaches freshmen and sophomores of non-English majors College English. She also supervises the undergraduate student English majors’ graduation thesis and trains students for China’s College Entrance English Examination. Annette has published several papers about English teaching and learning.
