Student Teaching

The governor has closed all Montana schools for 2 weeks. We will be communicating with you this week about how we will get your evaluations from your cooperating teachers and university supervisors. Please know are working diligently on your behalf and we are going to get through this together. We will also be discussing more about double majors this week. If you are a Class V student teacher, please be in contact with your school and administration. More information to come.

Plan for student teachers

Single Majors
If Then Comments
If you are a single major:

Student Teaching is complete.

Supervisors will gather the assessment documents

  • Summative Evaluation (US & CT)

  • Dispositions (CT)
Student teachers with Minor in Reading or Art
If Then Comments
Students have been in an elementary classroom:

The cooperating teacher in elementary ed should do an ACP for reading or art content.

Supervisors will gather the APC document.

Double majors *First placements are done and successful. *
For second placement in Special Education or Early Childhood P-3:

Schools open within the next 2-4 weeks

Special ed placement can begin in the original placement.

 

 

It is preferred that students in special education complete 10 weeks of student teaching.   If schools open by April 13, students will have enough time.

Dispositions (CT)

If schools do not open in time for a 10 week experience, The minimum number teaching weeks is four so that essential evaluations can be done and submitted

If students want to do a full 10 week placement in the fall An incomplete grade will be given.  We will ask the original cooperating teacher if they are willing to host them, or we will find another placement
