Paramedic Associate of Science Degree

Dear Prospective Student:

Advance your career at Montana State University Billings while enjoying the breathtaking beauty of Big Sky country. The 1800-hour paramedic degree program utilizes online, hybrid, traditional classroom, and skills laboratory delivery methods to ensure a flexible but rigorous educational experience. Furthermore, students may choose to take the pre-requisite classes entirely online or on campus. The paramedic core classes and hospital and field internships run from September through August. ACLS, PHTLS, PALS, and NRP certifications are also included in the curriculum. Financial aid, housing, and VA benefits are available to qualified students.

The paramedic program is housed in the health sciences building on the MSUB College of Technology campus. This provides you with the small campus atmosphere of MSUB's College of Technology, but also allows you the luxury of resources that only a larger university can provide.

Finally, I would like to share with you the qualities that I will bring to the classroom as the paramedic program director. I have been a paramedic since 1977 and director of paramedic programs since 1985. My teaching philosophy revolves around student needs and bridging classroom instruction to real street application. Additionally, I serve as a nationally recognized lecturer, author, expert witness and consultant for prehospital emergency medicine.

If you are truly serious about advancing your career, send for an application packet today. It will be the best professional decision you can make. Pre-requisite classes are available throughout the academic year.

David Gurchiek, Ph.D., NREMT-P
Department Chair, Health & Public Safety; Director, Paramedic Program
