Bagels with Brilliance
When: Sat., April 12th from 11 am – noon
Where: MSUB Alteroitz Gym
Why: The first 50 girls and their parent or adult who brings them will get bagels and juice. Come learn about past and current Chicks in Science “Outstanding Women in STEM-Related Fields”. Exposure to professional women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) fields to young girls is very life-career impacting. Positive role models are a significant developmental stage in life choices. This program event will facilitate a positive communication environment in which girls can visit with, ask questions and simply get to know our ‘mentors’. Likewise, the mentors can ask girls questions/mingle with them – and make an impact on their future educational and career choices in STEM-related fields.
Mentors will include:
JoAnn Eder – Astronomer; President of O.P. and W.E. Edwards Foundation
Kim Lane – Eagle Cliffs Elementary, 6th Grade Teacher
Dr. Claire Kenamore - Pediatrician, Billings Clinic
Monica Mainland, Chemical Engineer and Refinery Manager, Exxon Mobil
