School Counseling Option (K-12)
OPI Licensure and State Licensure Opportunity

The counseling faculty of the College of Education recognizes that there will be students who wish to pursue both school counselor licensure from the Office of Public Instruction and State of Montana licensure (LPC or LCPC) simultaneously.  Those seeking both licenses will take a 60 hour degree program in consultation with his/her advisor.  Students should be aware that licensure is controlled by the Montana Board of Social Work and Licensed Professional Counselors, not the MSU Billings College of Education.  Students who wish to pursue licensure should use the coursework listed below and the programmatic requirements established by the Montana Board of Social Work and Licensed Professional Counselors for LPC/LCPC eligibility.
