Sculpture

Brian Cast instructs the Sculpture program at MSUB. The focus of the program is our foundry. Frequent pours of molten metal offer students the opportunity to learn this popular process. Students from this program have gone on to work in commercial foundries such as Billings Bronze. The foundry processes include casting bronze in ceramic shell, standard investment, and casting aluminum in ceramic shell and direct displacement. Other special facilities in the Sculpture area include a wood shop, compressed air, pneumatic power tools, welding equipment of various types: TIG, Arc, and Oxy-acetylene. There is also a sandblaster. The Sculpture facility is housed in the Art Annex on the East end of the campus and is opened extra hours for the convenient access of students.
