Why Should I Participate in Cooperative Education?

Cooperative Education (Co-Op Ed) internships create educational partnerships among Montana State University Billings, the business community, and students. Co-Op Ed is a unique academic program that allows students to earn academic credit while combining classroom learning with practical work experience.

By participating in a Co-Op Ed internship you will:

Put theory into practice.

Work side-by-side with professionals in your field.

When Am I Eligible to Participate in the Program?

Students who participate in Co-Op Internships must:
''
Be currently enrolled at MSU Billings
''
Have a minimum of 24 cumulative credits
''
Meet a minimum grade point average that varies by discipline
''
Be pursuing a degree or certificate

What Are the Specifics?

1 credit = 45 hours depending on discipline.
''

The last day to register for your internship is the “Last Day for Registering/Adding Classes” as determined by the University Calendar.

''

Placements and documentation must be complete prior to registration.

''

Internship postings are available online, but you are free to develop your own.

''
Keep in mind that applying for an internship is a competitive process similar to applying for a job.
