Getting Started:

  • Set up an initial appointment with our Co-Op Ed Specialist.

  • If you have already registered in CareerLink, please edit your profile to make sure the “Miscellaneous Information” section is complete.

  • Upload your résumé in CareerLink (to be critiqued by Career Services staff and then corrected by you).  Upload final copy.

  • For your initial appointment, bring a list of internships you are interested in pursuing from CareerLink or your own list of possible sites.

  • Contact potential employers to set up interviews.  Just like any job, you are responsible for pursuing Co-Op Ed Internship leads and for securing your Co-Op Ed/internship.

If you have questions regarding CareerLink, please call us at 657.2168.

Getting Registered:

  • Contact your faculty supervisor for specific academic requirements. He/she will act as a mentor/supervisor throughout the Co-Op experience.

  • Attach a copy of your learning objectives (4-5 goals and how you plan to achieve them).  Learning objectives must be approved by your faculty supervisor.   See the relevant Co-Op Ed forms for specific guidelines.

  • If you developed your own internship, include your job description which must be approved by your Faculty supervisor.

  • Complete the Learning Agreement, with signatures of employer, faculty, department chair, and Co-Op Ed.  All areas must be completed!

Important Notes:

  • Internships are restricted-entry courses. CE will register students only after all required paperwork is completed and submitted to Co-Op Ed before the last day to add, according to campus calendar.

  • The last day to register for your internship is the “Last Day for Registering/Adding Classes.”

  • Documentation of hours of participation, midterm/final evaluations, and any additional course assignments must be completed and submitted to your faculty supervisor. Meeting the due dates is your responsibility.
