The NCAA website provides a wide selection of information helpful to a wide variety of people.  It contains information such as collegiate statistics, laws and guidelines to follow, job postings, and much more.  This site is used by high school athletes searching for eligibility requirements, coaches looking for answers to recruiting questions, to even administrative staff members looking for answers to compliance questions.  Another great feature of this site is the numerous links one can connect to (i.e. school and conference websites, championship event links, and broadcasted events.).

 

Home Plate on the World Wide Web http://www.nfca.org/  This site is sponsored by the NFCA.  The National Fastpitch Coaches Association has grown from 40 members in 1983, to over 4,200 members in November of 2003. This website is very well organized and presentable. It contains thorough and easy to find information on many aspects of pregnancy including planning a pregnancy, cord blood donation and even adoption.  The colors are very calming and the advertisements are not too overwhelming or large. The sites emphasized sections are organized in the center of the screen with appropriate pictures.

 

The Center for disease Control and Prevention: Health Promotion http://www.cdc.gov/

When it comes to up to date valuable health information this website has it all. It even has specific information pertaining to health promotion, such as the national Health Promotion Conference. The information is organized well but because of the substantial amount of information, it may be more difficult to find.

I believe that this Website is directed more towards drug users rather than health professionals but the information contained in the site can be very informative.  The information is very extensive and especially for somebody who is inexperienced in the use and effects of drugs, a lot can be learned. It covers many drugs, how they are used, how they affect the body, laws, pictures and much more.

I really enjoyed just surfing this website. It has interesting facts and laws about alcohol and covers a broad view about alcohol and its use. The articles are very interesting and many of them are conflicting to popular belief. There were several articles that put a spin on different topics that really made you think.

This website contains information about STDÕs and STIÕs it covers many different STDÕs, some that I have never even heard of before. It has very detailed information about each STD, how to prevent them and support information if you have them. Not enough pictures, though. I think STD prevention needs to have many more pictures of these diseases. If pictures were in more books and Websites it might have helped to keep some unfortunate souls pants on.

I liked this site because it doesnÕt just say tobacco does this, tobacco does that, tobacco kills.  It has tons of headlines and information about tobacco from all over the world. ItÕs more than just a tobacco education site but a tobacco information site. It also contains thousands of tobacco ads, a tobacco timeline and much more.

This website is about the health issues that are affecting us today. It has top headlines that are happening in the U.S. and around the world. It also contains a video library that contains videos on different health aspects.

This website has valuable health information. It contains many links to other health related sites and can even direct you to job offerings in health related fields. This website is well organized and has many links to health news. This website is well rounded, it contains health information, current health news and even grant and funding information.

This website covers health information such as depression, ADD, Alzheimers and other eating disorders. It is very well organized and one of my favorites when it comes to appearance. This website also contains funding and research.

This website is an awesome site for teens. It covers any teen topic you can think of  from acne, to heart disease to tattooing. It also contains a discussion board so that teens can discuss personal problems of their own. This site is well organized and appealing to teens.

I think that it is very important to know what health advice is coming from the most watched talk show. Millions of people watch Oprah and take any advice from her show or website to heart. The website is a free publication that is supported by the University Of Washington School Of Medicine that teaches the basics of CPR.  The site breaks down its information into CPR, video demonstrations, choking, and fun/ facts (geared toward children).  The CPR and choking areas can be further segmented in adult, child and infant techniques to encourage site users to be comfortable with their life-saving abilities and to take action if a situation occurs.

The National Mental Health Association website provides information about mental illnesses, treatment resources and support groups which are available to those who wish to seek help.  Crisis information is also offered, which includes the warning signs of suicide and a toll-free number to contact help in case of an emergency.  The site offers useful fact sheets about things such as anxiety disorders, eating disorders, schizophrenia, substance abuse and tips for strengthening families.
