Week in Review

The Yellowjackets had three big wins over conference opponents Western Washington, Seattle University, and Saint Martin's last week.  On Monday, the Yellowjackets downed the Vikings to open the conference schedule with a 2-1 win.  The Vikings' goal is the only goal the Jackets have conceded this season.

On Friday, the Yellowjackets stunned No. 21 ranked Seattle University in posting a 1-0 shutout win.  Sam Charles scored the Jackets' lone goal in the upset.

MSU Billings secured their sixth shutout of the season handing Saint Martin's a 2-0 decision on Sunday.  Charles was again the offensive force for the Jackets scoring both goals for MSUB.

Charles leads the Great Northwest Athletic Conference with 23 points, scoring 11 goals and one assist.  Scoring four of the Yellowjackets five goals last week, Charles broke the Yellowjacket record and the conference record of consecutive games with at least one goal scored.  He has now scored in all seven games this season with the previous GNAC record set by Jason Cascio of Seattle during the 2006 season at six games.

The Yellowjackets' defensive unit continues to do their part in the team's successes.  As a defensive line, the Yellowjackets have conceded just one goal, and through seven games MSUB has allowed just 42 shots total with 17 on goal.  The defense leads the conference posting six shutouts, and has a goals against average of 0.17.
