Yellowjacket Summer Softball Camps Postponed
BILLINGS, Mont. – With the damage that recent storms have caused to Montana State Billings’ Cenex Stadium and the renovation of the field about to begin, the MSUB softball program has postponed their summer camps until a further date, head coach Anthony Stone announced Monday. Newly scheduled dates for the camps have not been announced.
“It’s unfortunate the weather has delayed our projected camps,” Stone said. “However, there is some good news to be had. Once the renovation is complete, we will still be able to provide the community of Montana with a quality softball field for camps and practices. I’m looking forward to the finished product and I know our current team members, the students of MSU Billings and the community is looking forward to it as well.”
Strong storms and high winds over the past month have blown large amounts of the infield dirt off the field of play, causing a large lip around the outfield grass. Plans to repair the field include laying new dirt on the infield and making improvements to minimize the wind blowing across the field.
