Yellowjacket Softball Signs Two More for 2010-11
BILLINGS, Mont. – Montana State Billings softball head coach, Anthony Stone, announced the signings of Megan Harasymczuk and Annaleisha Parsley Monday afternoon. Harasymczuk and Parsley join Samantha Church, Amanda Todd and Olivia Heidinger as part of the 2010-11 recruiting class.
“Both Megan and Annaleisha are two of the best girls you’re going to find out on the recruiting trail,” said Stone. “Not only can they play softball at a very high level, but they are good people. They demonstrated that right away during their campus visit, as they were very open with our current team members, and that certainly goes a long way for building team chemistry.”
Harasymczuk, a native of Spring Creek, NV, spent the last two seasons playing at Southwestern Oregon Community College. In two seasons she was named all NWAACC tournament team for her play in the outfield, leading the Lancers to a second place finish at the NWAACC tournament this season. This past season she was earned Louisville Slugger All-America status and was the Southern Region co-MVP.
In high school Harasymczuk was a two sport athlete, earning a letter all four years in softball and twice in basketball. She was named to the all state team her final three seasons at Spring Creek HS, earning the Elko County MVP her senior season.
She helped SCHS to a state runner-up finish during her freshman season and a third place finish her senior year. Harasymczuk was also a member of the U.S. Triple Crown team that traveled to Australia and New Zealand for a competitive tour.
Parsley, a native of Lacey, WA, also played two seasons at Southwestern Oregon before signing with the Yellowjackets. A 5’-8” pitcher and first baseman, Parsley earned NFCA NWAACC All-American honors both seasons and was named to the all-tournament team in 2010.
Parsley was also NWAACC Pitcher of the Year in 2009 and was co-Pitcher of the Year this past season. During her high school career at Timberline HS, Parsley earned four letters in softball. She was also a member of numerous traveling teams throughout Washington State.
“It’s nice when you bring kids in and the rest of your team gels with them quickly,” Stone continued. “The process of learning to play together is a much smoother transition, especially when you have two players who possess the kind of talent and maturity like Megan and Annaleisha.”
