Yellowjacket Cross Country Begins Saturday
BILLINGS, Mont. – The 2010 season begins Saturday, Sept. 4, for the Montana State Billings Yellowjacket men’s and women’s cross country teams. The Yellowjackets are hosting the MSUB Open starting at 10 a.m. at Riverfront Park in Billings, and features the Yellowjackets, Rocky Mountain College and Black Hills State.
Head Coach Dave Coppock enters his 22nd season at the helm of the cross country program and looks to make it one of his most successful with a growing program. The men’s team features six runners that competed at last years’ conference meet and with feature a squad size of 12 runners.
The women’s team will look to experience to help guide them through the season as they return four runners on last years’ conference meet team. The women’s team will carry eight girls throughout the season as they look to make a mark in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.
Last season in the opening meet, the Yellowjackets earned a split with the Battlin’ Bears in a dual, as the MSUB women took home the win and the men fell just short.
