Yellowjacket Baseball Adds Another
BILLINGS, Mont. – The Montana State Billings athletic department announced the signing of Tim Goins to the Yellowjacket baseball team for the 2010-2011 season. Goins, a Dillon, Mont., native, played the last two seasons at Yakima Valley Community College.
“I chose MSUB because I wanted to play baseball at the next level,” Goins said. Plus, Billings is closer to home. I also think that I could be an important part to the team in helping them to a winning season.”
While at Yakima Valley, Goins hit .462 and had a .382 on base percentage playing third base. He led the team in average and had a .556 on base percentage.
Goins played legion baseball for the Dillon Cubs where he was an all-conference selection from 2006-2008. He hit .421 in his final year for the Cubs with 22 singles, 18 doubles, two triples and an impressive 22 home runs. He had 31 stolen bases and 73 RBI’s.
He also competed in football and basketball for Beaverhead County High School where he helped lead his team the 2006-07 state championship in football and basketball. In addition, he helped lead his legion baseball team to a third place finish in state in 2007-08.
Goins joins Andrew Kachel (Northeastern Junior College), Rhett Morgan (Northeastern Junior College) and Zachary Smith (Independence Community College) for the 2010-11 season. |
