Yellowjackets Close Out Regular Season with Parents Weekend
Versus No. 17 Seattle Pacific and Western Washington

BRIEFLY
The MSUB women’s soccer team hosts nationally ranked Seattle Pacific and Western Washington this weekend for Parents Weekend and Senior Day.  The Yellowjackets will honor two seniors playing in their final game on Saturday.  MSUB enters the week with a 9-8-1 record and a 5-5 record in the GNAC, while SPU enters ranked 17th nationally with a 14-3 record and a 7-2-1 record in league play.  Western Washington enters the week with a 10-4-3 record overall and a 7-1-2 mark in the GNAC.  WWU can win its second-straight GNAC crown with two wins this week.

PARENTS WEEKEND AND SENIOR DAY
This weekend marks Parents Weekend and Senior Day for MSUB women’s soccer.  MSUB will honor seniors Chelsea Libby and Caitlin Differding before the game on Saturday.  Libby is the lone senior for the Yellowjackets this season as she is one of seven Yellowjackets to play and start all 18 games so far this season.  She is tied for the team lead in assists with eight.  Differding, a senior academically and a junior athletically, played in 11 games this season with one start, tallying three shots and one shot on goal. 

SCOUTING MONTANA STATE BILLINGS

The Yellowjackets are led by freshman Jaucelyn Richter who leads the team with nine goals and eight assists.  Fellow freshman Jennifer Larsen has eight goals and two assists for 18 points.  Kari Foreman is third on the team in goals with seven and has three assists for 17 points.  Senior Chelsea Libby also is tied for first on the team with eight assists.  Samantha Sandau and Carly Valentine each have three goals on the year, while Andrea Baytaluke, Kelly Ross and Kristen Kastelic each have a goal.

Between the posts, the Yellowjackets are led by Jordan Fenwick who has played and started all 18 games.  She has tallied 1678:29 minutes with 74 saves for a 1.72 goals against average.  She has a 9-8-1 record with three shutouts. 

As a team, MSUB has scored 33 goals on the year with 33 assists for 99 points.  The Jackets have 261 shots for a .126 average and 142 shots on goal for a .544 clip.  Conversely, the opponents have scored 32 goals with 23 assists for 87 points.  They have 208 shots and 109 on goal.

RECAPPING LAST WEEK
The Yellowjackets split a pair of 3-0 decisions last week as they lost 3-0 to Saint Martin’s at home and downed Western Oregon by the same score.  Jill Webb scored two second half goals for the Saints in the 3-0 win as MSUB looked a bit flat for the game.  Fenwick had seven saves in the losing effort.  The Yellowjackets snapped a four game skid with a 3-0 shutout of Western Oregon two days later.  After the disappointing performance versus SMU, the Jackets had one of their best performances against the Wolves.  MSUB tallied two first half goals in dominating fashion by Valentine and Sandau with assists from Chelsea Libby and Jaucelyn Richter.  Richter and Libby had two assists each in the game.  Kari Foreman added a late goal for a 3-0 win.

SCOUTING NO. 17 SEATTLE PACIFIC
The Falcons enter the week ranked 17th nationally are led by Jocelyn Charette who leads the team with 11 goals on the year.  Kelsey Jenkins leads the team with seven assists and has four goals.   Brandi Hamre and Megan Lindsay each have four goals, too. 

In goal the Falcons are led by Maddie Dickinson who has played in 1100 minutes with 49 saves and has allowed just six goals on the year for a national-best 0.49 goals against average.  She has a 9-2-1 record with an impressive eight shutouts.  Jessica Rahm-Kellerman has played in seven games with nine saves and boasts a 5-1 record and four shutouts.

As a team, the Falcons have scored a league-best 41 goals and allowed a league-low nine.  They have 40 assists for 122 points and have tallied 311 shots (.132) and 147 on goal (.473). 

INSIDE THE SERIES...
The Falcons lead the all-time series 7-0 and won 4-0 in the first meeting this season and both meetings last year, 3-0.  MSUB has never scored a goal on the Falcons and has been outscored 21-0 in seven games.

SCOUTING WESTERN WASHINGTON
The Vikings enter the week with a 10-4-3 record overall and a 7-1-2 record in league play.  Emily Frankland leads the team with six goals, while Kelly Irving leads the squad with eight assists.  Molly Shannon has five goals on the year and Irving has added three.

In goal, Kylie Broadbent leads the team with 41 saves and a 9-2-2 record with eight shutouts in 1201:59 minutes.  She has 10 goals against for a 0.75 average and a .804 save percentage. 

As a team, the Vikings have 26 goals with 27 assists for 79 points.  They have 268 shots for an 0.97 average.    

INSIDE THE SERIES...
WWU leads the all-time series 7-0-1 and have won four straight in the series, including the first meeting this season (3-0) and both games last season, 2-0 and 2-1.  MSUB tied WWU in Bellingham on Sept. 20, 2007 with a 2-2 score.  MSUB had a 2-0 first half lead, but two second half goals by WWU sent the game to overtime, including the game-tying goal in the 90th minute.

BOEHM ACADEMIC ALL-REGION
Samantha Boehm was named third team CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VII.  She is the second Yellowjacket in as many seasons to earn all-district academic honors.  Melissa Carlson was a first team selection last year.  Boehm is in her first semester of graduate school and has a 3.62 grade point average in public relations.  She is the only Yellowjacket to play all 1628 minutes this season.

SEEING THE MINUTES
Junior Jordan Fenwick has played 1628:29 minutes this season which is the third most minutes in a season in school history.  If Fenwick plays all 180 minutes this weekend (barring overtime), she will have 1858:29 which will be just 9:46 short of the school record set by Megan Plank in 2006.  Forman topped her 2008 performance of 1484:02. Fenwick has played every minute of every game this season.

FOREMAN NAMED YELLOWJACKET OF THE WEEK
Junior Kari Foreman was this week’s Yellowjacket of the week for the week of Oct. 19. The Lakewood, Colo., native had two of the Yellowjackets four goals in a 4-0 victory over rival, Rocky Mountain College. Foreman led the way with two goals and tallied her fourth game-winner of the year. She had four shots and three on goal. For the season, Foreman has tallied seven goals and 17 points for MSUB.

FOUR FOR FOREMAN
Kari Foreman tallied two goals and added her fourth game winner of the year at Rocky Mountain College on Oct. 14 in a 4-0 win.  With her fourth game winner, she now is tied with Ally Stroup (2005 & 2006) and Margot Merrill-Johnson (2001) for most game winners in a season in school history.

LIBBY & RICHTER TIED FOR FIRST IN ASSISTS
Senior Chelsea Libby and freshman Jaucelyn Richter are tied for first in the league in assists with eight each.  Kelly Irving also has eight assists.

ROCK SOLID BOEHM
Samantha Boehm is the only Yellowjacket to play all 1678 minutes this season.  She is one of eight Yellowjackets to play and start all 18 games.  Last season, Sara Gress played every minute of the year.
