Boehm Named CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine  Academic All-Region Third Team

BILLINGS, Mont. – Junior defender Samantha Boehm has been named to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-Region VII third team.  The announcement was made this week as Boehm is the second Yellowjacket to earn academic all-region honors in as many years.  Former Yellowjacket, Melissa Carlson, earned first team honors last season.

Boehm, a native of Wilsonville, Ore., has played and started in all 18 games for the Yellowjackets.  She is in her first semester of graduate school and has a 3.62 grade point average in public relations.  Boehm, a captain, has played every minute of the season (1628) and has helped lead the Yellowjackets to three shutouts on the year.

Boehm earned her first Great Northwest Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors this season as she anchored a line that allowed just one goal in 200 minutes as MSUB tied the University of Mary and defeated Minnesota-Crookston, Sept. 12-13) in Bismarck, ND.

She came back and started the final five games of 2008 after returning from injury in 2007.  Boehm earned the Next Level Team Award for taking her game to the next level from the previous season as it was voted on by the team in 2008.

The Yellowjackets host nationally ranked Seattle Pacific and Western Washington next Thursday and Saturday, respectively, for Parents Weekend.
