Women’s Basketball Adds Two More
BILLINGS, Mont. – Montana State Billings head women’s basketball coach, Kevin Woodin, announced the signing of Sarah McNamee and Kelcy Lott for the 2009-2010 season.
McNamee, a native of Miles City, played two years at Miles Community College where she was a MonDak first team all-conference selection and first team Region IX in 2007-08. She also was named to the conference academic team as well and a two-time MonDak Player of the Week. McNamee set the single game scoring record for MCC with 39 points and averaged 16 points and five assists her final year.
Prior to Miles, McNamee prepped at Custer County High School where he was a first team all-state selection and all-conference in 2005-06. She was named Treasure State Most Valuable Player in 2006 and was a member of the Montana-Wyoming All-Star team. She helped lead Custer County HS to a second place finish at state her senior year, averaging 18 points per game.
“Sarah is an outstanding person and player,” Woodin said. “She is a versatile guard who is very fundamentally sound and plays with a great deal of passion. I look forward to working with her.”
Lott graduated from Twin Bridges High School this past spring as she averaged 15 points, five assists and five steals during her senior year. She was a four-time all-conference selection and was a three-time all-state selection and was the Western C Divisional Most Valuable Player in 2009. She also was a class valedictorian.
Not only did she excel on the court during her career, her team did, too. Lott helped lead the team to an impressive 100-9 record during her high school career. They were undefeated in conference play from 2005-2009 and won four conference and district championships each. She also helped lead the team to three divisional championships and four consecutive state C tournaments.
“I am very excited to have Kelcy join our basketball team,” Woodin said. “She is a tremendous competitor and student-athlete and I know she will have a positive impact on our program.”
