Women’s Basketball Inks Two
BILLINGS, Mont. – Montana State women’s basketball head coach, Kevin Woodin, announced Monday the signing of Lisa Laslovich and Brooke Tolman for the 2010-2011 season.
Laslovich, a guard from Anaconda, Mont., was a four year letter winner and earned first team all-conference and first team all-state honors as a senior. She averaged 10 points, three steals and three assists per game. She helped lead the Copperheads to state all four years, where they garnered two state championships in 2008 and 2009. In addition, the Copperheads finished third at state in 2010.
She also earned Treasure State Classic All-Star honors and is scheduled to play on the Montana-Wyoming all-star team.
Not only did she excel on the court, but also in the classroom as she will graduate with a 3.98 grade point average and is a member of National Honor Society and is the senior class president.
“Lisa is a tremendous leader and player,” Woodin said. “She is a tenacious defender who plays with great intensity and I am confident she will have a positive impact on our program.”
Tolman is a junior college transfer from Central Wyoming and native of Honeyville, Utah. During her sophomore season at CWC, she led her team with 14 points, five rebounds and three assists per game. She shot 43 percent from beyond the arc as she connected on 91 triples. Tolman earned all-conference and all-region honors.
She prepped at Box Elder High School in Brigham City, Utah, where she was a four year letter winner and a McDonald’s All-American high school nominee. In addition, she also will play volleyball at MSUB next season.
“Brooke is a tremendous athlete and competitor,” Woodin added. “She is committed to doing whatever it takes to help her team win. She represents the type of student-athlete we want at MSUB.”
