Four Yellowjackets Named to GNAC Volleyball Academic Team
SPOKANE, Wash. – Four Montana State Billings volleyball players have been selected for the 2009 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Academic All-Conference volleyball team, the conference office announced Wednesday.
Overall, 43 student-athletes were selected to this year’s team. MSUB was sixth overall, tying with Seattle Pacific, and finishing behind Alaska Fairbanks, Northwest Nazarene and Western Washington, Central Washington and Western Oregon.
Sophomore Jennifer Holland of Alaska Fairbanks led the way with a 4.00 GPA in civil engineering. Leading seniors in the conference were Lisa Martini and Amy Herron, both from Western Oregon, with 3.96 and 3.93 averages, respectively.
Seniors, Devon Crotteau (3.56), Hillary Morrison (3.61) and Jill Trabing (3.42) were all repeat selections along with junior, Jennifer Boe (3.24).
To be eligible for the GNAC academic team, student-athletes must have a minimum grade point average of 3.20 and be in at least their second year of competition at their university.
