Crotteau Earns GNAC Player of the Week Honor
SPOKANE, Wash. – Montana State Billings senior outside hitter, Devon Crotteau, was named Great Northwest Athletic Conference Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday. It is her first weekly conference honor of the season.
The Casper, Wyo. native recorded 48 kills and 23 digs and hit for a .349 percentage as the Yellowjackets went 1-1 on their recent trip to Alaska. MSUB lost a five-set heartbreaker to Alaska Fairbanks, despite 31 kills from Crotteau, but turned around the next night to sweep Alaska Anchorage, 3-0.
Her 31 kills at Fairbanks are a season-best for the conference and she now has four of the top eight kill totals in the conference this season. Crotteau leads the GNAC in kills (4.55) and points (5.20) and ranks 14th in career kills (1,114).
Crotteau’s career kill total ranks her fourth on the all-time list at MSUB, just 174 behind Oliva Munro (2001-04) for third and 335 behind Alicia Cazemier (2004-07) for first on the list. She is also one of the nation’s best in kills per set, averaging 4.55.
The Yellowjackets visit Rocky Mountain College tomorrow night starting at 7 p.m. before returning home for a pair of matches against Saint Martin’s on Sept. 26, and Alaska Anchorage on Sept. 28 at 7 p.m.
This season ALL MSUB home volleyball matches will be FREE on the internet with live video and audio as the voice of the Yellowjackets, Ken Adelblue, will have the call.
