Men’s Tennis Falls to St. Cloud State, 7-2
BILLINGS, Mont. – The Montana State Billings men’s tennis team was unable to capture their first victory of the season, falling at St. Cloud State 7-2 on Monday. The Yellowjackets fell to 0-10 on the season and will look to garner their first victory on Tuesday with a pair of matches against Bemidji State and Mankato State.
The Yellowjackets scored their two points after Navin Marimuthu and Travis Lehman took the number one doubles match with an 8-3 victory and Marimuthu scored a victory in the number one singles, 6-4, and 7-5.
Sophomore Franco Valdez nearly picked up another point in the second position, dropping the match in three sets, 6-4, 1-6, 6-3.
The number two doubles of Josh Schouman and Delbert Landicho dropped a tough 7-9 decision as Valdez and Luis Olivera fell in a heartbreaking 8-9 decision.
