Softball Adds One More for 2009-2010 Season
BILLINGS, Mont. – Montana State Billings head softball coach, Anthony Stone, announced Monday that Kaycee Hoffman has signed with the Yellowjackets.
“Kaycee will be a welcome addition to our team this year and I foresee her making an immediate impact,” Stone said. “She comes from Chemeketa Community College, one of the most respectable programs in the NWAACC, and I feel that not only will her offense help us, her versatility on defense will be certainly useful to our ball club. She’s a great fit for the Jackets, and I’m very excited that she chose our school to further her education.”
Hoffman, a 5-6 infielder and native of Canby, Ore., played catcher the past two years at Chemeketa Community College in Salem, Ore., where she batted .452 with 37 singles, seven doubles, one triple, 11 home runs and 36 RBI. She had an on-base percentage of .544 and was a Southern Region first team selection and named to the Academic All-Sports team in 2009.
In high school, she was a first team all-league selection in 2006 at first base. She also was an all-state honorable mention selection. She helped lead her team to the state tournament all four years.
She joins Rachel Eisenmann (Missoula, Mont./Spokane Falls CC) and Madison Smith (Newcastle, Calif.) for the upcoming season.
