Hoffman Gets Player of the Week Honors
SPOKANE, Wash. – For the first time this season, Montana State Billings junior transfer, Kaycee Hoffman, has been named co-Great Northwest Athletic Conference Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday. It is the first award for the junior from Canby, Ore. and the third time this season a Yellowjacket has received the award.
Hoffman batted .667 and had three home runs and 10 RBI as the Yellowjackets won three of four games at Saint Martin’s this past weekend. She had eight hits in 12 at bats, including five for extra bases (2 doubles). Her slugging average for the series was 1.583.
This season, Hoffman leads the team with a .345 batting average, scoring 20 runs, 30 RBI along with seven home runs. Hoffman has a team-leading .588 slugging percentage and an on base percentage of .429. Defensively, Hoffman has the highest fielding percentage of anyone on the team (.984).
The Yellowjackets begin an eight game home stand this weekend to wrap-up GNAC and regular season play. The Jackets play host to league-leading Central Washington on Saturday and Sunday, May 1-2, at 1 p.m. both days.
