Trenary Named Pitcher of the Week for Second Time
SPOKANE, Wash. – Montana State Billings softball junior pitcher, Lindsey Trenary, was named Great Northwest Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday. Trenary earned the award for the second time this season after earning the award for her performance at the Desert Stinger in Las Vegas.
Trenary, a native of Helena, Mont., was the only pitcher to record two victories on the opening weekend of conference play. She gave up 15 hits, but just two runs in 14 innings to improve to 3-0 on the season.
On Sunday she blanked Western Washington 2-0 on nine hits, and then pitched a six-hitter in a 4-2 victory on Monday. She walked four and fanned three in the two complete game performances.
The Yellowjackets (5-4, 3-1) will travel to co-GNAC preseason favorite, Western Oregon University (2-3, 1-3), for a pair of doubleheaders on Saturday at 12 p.m. and Sunday at 12 p.m.
