Men’s Basketball Adds Western Oklahoma State Product
BILLINGS, Mont. – Montana State Billings head men’s basketball coach George Pfeifer announced the signing of Western Oklahoma State College product, Kevin Terry, for the 2010-11 season.
“Kevin is a special player,” Pfeifer said. “We have gotten several players from Western Oklahoma and most have ended with multiple GNAC accolades. I saw him in Dallas this fall and fell in love with how he made difficult plays very simple. Without sounding too bold, I am confident Kevin has the ability to be one of the better players in our league next year. He has a very high basketball IQ and can really score the ball.
Terry, a 6-1, 175 lb., Brooklyn, NY, native, attended Paul Robeson High School where MSUB senior Derrick Wright prepped.
He averaged 17.4 points, 3.4 rebounds and 5.6 assists his sophomore year at Western Oklahoma State College. Terry tallied 38 points against Clarendon while at WOSC and scored 30 points twice against Connors State who won the Sooner Conference and played in the NJCAA Tournament this past season.
Wright and MSUB junior DeAndre Chambers both played at Western Oklahoma State College before coming to Billings.
Prior to WOSC, Terry attended the University of Pittsburgh-Titusville as a freshman where he was selected as a NJCAA All-American. He averaged 22.7 points per game. From the end of January to the end of the season, Terry had eight-straight games of scoring 30 or more points and tallied 40 or more points twice.
