MSUB took at 20-18 lead on a Jackson triple with 8:28 left and didn’t trail the rest of the half as it built the lead to as many as nine on a Brett Taylor triple with less than three minutes remaining in the half.
The first eight minutes of the second half, proved to be the turning point in the game as MSUB opened the half with a 16-9 run for a 52-37 lead. However, the pesky Wolves wouldn’t go down quietly as they cut the deficit back to seven with eight minutes left courtesy a couple of deep 3s from Wheadon.
WOU would cut double-digit deficits back to seven points on two more occasions during the middle portion of the second half, but MSUB found a way to swell the lead each time and settled for the eight point victory.
