GNAC PLAYERS-OF-THE-WEEK:  Offense -  Cole Morgan, Central Washington (QB, 6-3, 203, Sr., Seattle, WA – Ballard), making his first-career start, had 213 yards in total offense in leading the Wildcats to a 38-7 win over Humboldt State.  Almost all of Morgan’s yardage came in the first half when Central piled up 298 yards of offense and built a 31-0 lead.  The fifth-year senior, who came off the bench to rally CWU from a 21-0 halftime deficit in a 23-21 a week earlier against Western Oregon,  completed 13 of 19 passes for 161 yards and two touchdowns in the opening half.  He finished with 182 yards on 14 completions in 27 attempts and also netted 31 yards on four rushes.  Defense –  John Breza, Western Oregon (LB, 6-1, 250, Sr., Salem, OR – Sprague & Foothill JC) had a game-high 11 tackles, including a GNAC season-high 3 ½ tackles for losses of eight yards as the Wolves held Azusa Pacific without a touchdown and to 29 second-half yards in  a 27-6 road victory.  Breza currently ranks sixth in the conference in tackles with 60.   Special Teams – Garrett Rolsma, Central Washington (K/P, 6-1, 200, Sr., University Place, WA – Curtis) had career longs for field goal made (47) and punt (65) and also tied his own GNAC single-season record with his 15th of the season.  He averaged 42.5 yards his four punts and did not allow a return yard.  Rolsma now ranks third on the CWU career scoring list with 306 points.  He is 15 of 18 on three-pointers after making 15 of 20 last season.  Rolsma also made five extra points extending his record-streak to 97

OTHER NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:  Bryson Kelly rushed for 93 yards on six carries, including a 72-yard run for Central Washington’s only second-half touchdown in a 38-7 Homecoming win over Humboldt State.  Kelly’s run was the third longest in GNAC history.  CWU’s Nat Conley had an 80-yard touchdown run against Western Montana in 2001 and Dixie State’s Tauni Vakapuna had  74-yard touchdown run earlier this season against Western Oregon. . .Humboldt State linebacker Bubba Reynolds had 14 tackles, including a GNAC  season-best 11 solos.  He also forced a fumble.  Reynolds currently ranks fourth in the conference with 65 tackles.  A year ago he finished second in the conference in tackles with 109. . .Quarterback Josh Riddell completed 16 of 31 passes for 328 yards and three touchdowns in Western Oregon’s win at Azusa Pacific.  It was Riddell’s second 300-yard passing game of the season.  Dixie QB Judd Thompson leads the GNAC this fall with three 300-yard passing games.

FROM THE RECORD BOOK:  Central Washington wide receiver Johnny  Spevak had seven receptions for 95 yards against Humboldt State, increasing his career totals to 301 catches for 4,151 yards.  He is just the third player in NCAA Division II history to record 300 receptions joining Clarence Coleman of Ferris State (323 between 1998 and 2001) and Andrew Blakely of Truman (300 between 1999 and 2002) in that exclusive club.  His yardage total ranks 11th all-time.  He needs 80 more yards to move into 10th place.  He is tied for fifth all-time with 52 career receptions. Spevak’s 52 TDs also ties him with running back Dan Murphy (1996-99) for the CWU career touchdown record.  Spevak eclipsed Murphy’s school career scoring record with his 52nd TD.  He has 314 points, two more than Murphy. . .
