Cross Country and Track Signs Helena High Standout Melanie Bock
BILLINGS, Mont. – Montana State Billings head men’s and women’s cross country and track and field coach, Dave Coppock, has announced the signing of Helena High School standout, Melanie Bock, to run for the Yellowjackets starting in the fall of 2010. Bock is the first 2010 signee for the Yellowjackets cross country and track and field teams.
“Melanie has a great high school running background and should easily make the adjustment to the college level,” said Coppock. “She'll definitely add to the depth of our women's track and cross country teams next season.”
Bock has ran cross country for the Bengals the past three seasons, running as team captain during her senior campaign. She had numerous top-ten finishes during her senior season and helped the Bengals to multiple meet victories.
In addition to her cross country career, Bock also participated in basketball, tennis and track at Helena High. She was part of the National Honor Society with a 3.60 GPA and was a three-year member of the choir and philharmonic choir. She plans to pursue a degree in Chemistry or Biology for Pre-Veterinarian Medicine while attending MSUB.
