Foreman Earns Co-Player of the Week Honors
BILLINGS, Mont. – Montana State Billings sophomore forward, Kari Foreman, was named Great Northwest Athletic Conference Co-Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday. Foreman shares the honor with Western Oregon’s Melinda Ingalls.
“Kari had a solid weekend for us, both offensively and defensively in the midfield,” head coach Don Trentham said. “She was rewarded for her hard work with the game equalizer against Fort Lewis and the game winner against Eastern New Mexico.”
Foreman scored two goals this past week, helping the Yellowjackets to a 2-1 record to open the 2008 season. Foreman scored the equalizing goal in the second half of a 2-1 overtime victory over Fort Lewis College in the final game of the Sixth Annual MSUB Cup Saturday. On Sunday, Foreman scored the game winner in a 3-0 victory over Eastern New Mexico. Fort Lewis College was an NCAA Tournament qualifier in 2007.
Foreman leads the team with two goals, four shots and three on goal through three games this season.
Ingalls scored three of WOU’s four goals in victories over Humboldt State (2-1 OT) and Corban College (2-1), to earn the co-weekly honor.
MSUB begins its first road trip of the season as it travels to the Augustana College Tournament in Sioux Falls, SD. MSUB battles Adams State, Saturday at 2 p.m. central time and Sunday at Augustana College on Sunday at noon central time.
