Stanhope Tabbed Weekly Best
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Montana State Billings freshman women’s golfer, Kalli Stanhope, has been named Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week, the league office announced Thursday. It was Stanhope’s second Player of the Week honor this season.
Stanhope, a native of Glendive, Mont., finished tied for 50th at the Grand Canyon Women’s Invitational earlier this week as she carded a 36-hole score of 163. Stanhope opened the tournament with an 88, but shaved 13 strokes off in the second round for a 75. It was her second lowest round of the year as she carded a 72 at the Rocky Mountain Invitational last fall at Peter Yegen Golf Club in Billings. She finished third in that tournament and was named RMAC Player of the Week (Oct. 3)
The Yellowjackets head to the RMAC Championship Apr. 18-19 in Buckeye, Ariz. MSUB and Fort Hays State are tied for the RMAC lead heading into the conference tournament. Both teams have 24 points as the Yellowjackets finished first, second and third in the mandatory three RMAC tournaments last fall. MSUB won the Chadron State Invitational Sept. 15-16.
