Yellowjacket Women’s Golf Inks Two for 2009
BILLINGS, Mont. – The Montana State Billings women’s golf head coach, Kevin Woodin, announced Wednesday that Hannah McPherson and Liz Tikriti have each signed their National Letter of Intent for the 2009-2010 season.
“I am very pleased to have both Hannah and Liz join our women’s golf team at MSUB,” Woodin said. “They will provide great depth for us and they are both quality student athletes. I look forward to working with both of them.”
McPherson, a native of Glendive, Mont., played all four years at Dawson County High School where she was a captain as a senior and was an all-conference selection for three years, as well as an all-state selection. She also played basketball and was an honorable mention all-state and all-conference selection.
In golf, McPherson had a stroke average of 84.7 as senior and a career average of 86.9. She was fourth at Divisionals and sixth at state as a senior. As a junior, she was runner-up at state and third at state as a sophomore.
Tikriti hails from Yakima, Wash., where she attends West Valley High School. There, she lettered three years in golf and two years in basketball. As a sophomore and junior, she was a first team all-conference golfer. In her freshman and junior years, Tikriti was a 3A state qualifier and as a sophomore she was the CBL Golfer of the Year.
She averaged 87 per round as a junior and is the summer of 2008 at the WJGA, she had a stroke average of 86. In 2006, she helped lead the team to the regional championship in golf and the 2007 district and regional championships and the same in 2008.
