Women’s Golf Ranked Eighth in Latest NCAA Central Region Poll
BILLINGS, Mont. – For the first time in school history, the Montana State Billings women’s golf team is ranked in the latest NCAA Division II Central Region Poll. The Yellowjackets currently are eighth in the region, the NCAA announced Thursday.
“I think that is really neat for our players and hopefully at the RMAC Championships we can play well and secure a berth to regionals,” head coach Kevin Woodin said.
Upper Iowa University leads the region followed by Concordia-St. Paul (Minn.) and Fort Hays State is third. MSUB and Fort Hays State are tied for the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference lead with 24 points heading into the conference championship, Apr. 18-19, in Buckeye, Ariz. Mesa State is third and Adams State is 12th, rounding out the teams ranked from the RMAC.
The Central Region is comprised of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and the RMAC. MSUB is an affiliate-member of the RMAC in women’s golf as the Great Northwest Athletic Conference doesn’t sponsor women’s golf.
