Ashley Reed Set to Play Basketball at MSUB
BILLINGS, Mont. – Montana State Billings’ women’s basketball head coach Kevin Woodin has announced that Ashley Reed, a 5-11 post player at Oregon City High School (Ore.), has signed a national letter of intent. She will be a freshman at MSUB in the fall of 2009.
Reed averaged 7.7 points a game and shot 63% from the floor in leading Oregon City to a 24-2 record and the Oregon Class 6-A State Championship. During the state tournament, she averaged 9.7 points a game while shooting 69.2% from the floor and 84.6% from the free throw line. Reed was selected to the Class 6-A All-Tournament second team.
“Ashley is a tremendous player and person,” said coach Woodin. “She is a very versatile player. I believe she will make an immediate impact on our team.”
During her last three seasons, Reed helped the Pioneers to a record of 70-10, two Three Rivers League championships and three trips to the Class 6-A state tournament. She was a four-year letterwinner and guided her team to the state championship game as a junior. Reed is the daughter of Susan Williams and Tim Reed and plans on majoring in Health and Human Performance.
