Carpenter Earns GNAC Honors Once Again
BILLINGS, Mont. – Alira Carpenter has been named GNAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Dec. 8. It is her second time winning the award this season. Carpenter has been named player of the week a total of eight times in her career.
Carpenter scored 29 points with three steals in a 65-61 win over Metro State, Dec. 6. She shot 10-of-23 from the floor but was deadly behind the arc. Carpenter nailed five triples out of eight attempts. She hit a three-point bomb with 1:45 left to give the Jackets the lead for good.
Carpenter pushed her career point total to 1565 to move past Deb Prevost (1975-78) into third place on the all-time scoring list. She needs 56 points to break the mark of 1620 held by Tera Silvius (1992-95).
