Carpenter Earns Academic All-District Honors

BILLINGS, Mont.–  Alira Carpenter has been named to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine District 7 Academic All-District College Division first team for women’s basketball.  This is the second time she has made first team and she was one of only three GNAC athletes to make all-district this season.  Carpenter will now be on the ballot for the academic all-American team.

Carpenter is averaging 23.3 and 3.7 rebounds a game while shooting 44.1% from the floor, 41.7% from behind the arc and 90.5% from the line.  She is currently ranked in NCAA Division II for scoring (seventh), free throw percentage (13th) and three-pointers made per game (2.9 – 18th).

“Alira is very deserving of this prestigious honor,” said head coach Kevin Woodin.  “She is a great leader for us.  Alira has worked extremely hard on the court and in the classroom.  She represents everything Yellowjacket athletics should stand for.”
