Yellowjackets Wake Up To Claim First GNAC Victory

BILLINGS, Mont. – Montana State University Billings awoke from its slumber with a 3-0 (25-21, 25-21, 25-20) win over Seattle Pacific, Saturday night. It was the first GNAC victory of the season for the Yellowjackets. The Jackets close a five game home stand, Monday, Oct. 6, taking on Alaska Anchorage. The match is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m.
“It’s about time,” said head coach Dana Cordova. “I’ve been waiting for us to play like this for awhile. The girls finally decided to come out and play. If we want to be a factor in the GNAC, we have to play like this every night. If we do that, no one should take us lightly.”
For Montana State Billings (4-15, 1-5 GNAC) Devon Crotteau had 16 kills and hit .382 while Ashley Welborn had nine kills, 12 digs and hit .412. Hillary Morrison quarterbacked the offense with 33 assists. Defensively, Alohanui Pekipaki had 12 digs while Jill Trabing had 11.
For Seattle Pacific (3-12, 1-5 GNAC), Nikki Finley had 11 kills while Anna Herold had 12 digs.
