School Records Fall at Montana State Invitational

BOZEMAN, Mont. –  Montana State Billings had a solid showing at the Montana State Invitational, Saturday afternoon.  The Yellowjackets broke three school records and had 11 additions to the top 10 list.  MSUB will travel to Monmouth, Ore., May 1-2, to compete in the GNAC Championships.

For the men, there were five additions to the Top 10 list.  Matt Roseberry ran 1:59.02 to break the school record in the 800 for the fourth straight meet.  Travis Hutchinson recorded the first individual victory of the year by winning the 10,000.

The Yellowjackets also picked up another relay win.  The 400M Relay team of Deshawn Lewis, Chase Berg, James Hopkins and Cam Weist ran 44.77 to finish first.  It was the second week in a row MSUB won the 400 relay.

For the women, two school records fell.  Erika Halle long jumped 17-0.50 to miss the GNAC automatic qualifying mark by 1/4th of an inch.  Her jump broke the record of 16-10.50 set in 1976 by Cathy Krug.

Lisa Minnehan ran 41:00.08 to win the 10,000.  It was the sixth fastest time in the GNAC and broke the school record of 42:59.10 set by Peg Havolick in 1981.
