Yellowjackets Split at RMAC Combo

BILLINGS, Mont. – Montana State Billings went 1-1 on the opening day of the RMAC Combo, Friday. The women (4-1 RMAC, 10-9) beat Metro State 5-4 while the men (1-4 RMAC, 4-14) fell to Metro, 9-0. MSUB will take on Nebraska-Kearney at the Tennis Dome, Saturday, April 18. The match is scheduled to start at 8:00 a.m.
For the women, the Yellowjackets got off to a quick start winning at No. 2 and 3 Doubles. Metro State came back to close the gap to 4-3. Sam Selstad sealed the victory by beating April Hirad, 6-2, 6-0 at No. 5 Singles.
For the men, Franco Valdez put up a valiant effort in losing 6-3, 6-4 to Sascha Ruckelshausen at No. 1 Singles. No. 3 Doubles was a barnburner as Metro edged out Brian LeSueur and Valdez, 9-8.
