Chan Named RMAC Women’s Tennis Player of the Year

BILLINGS, Mont. – Montana State Billings picked up some hardware from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Friday morning.  Ling Chan was named the RMAC Women’s Player of the Year while a total of seven players made All-RMAC.  This is the second straight year an MSUB women’s player has won player of the year as Heidi Lehman won last season.

Chan has had an outstanding freshman year at No. 1 Singles.  She is 5-1 in the RMAC and 12-6 overall.  Earning second team honors was Ana Juarez and Anne-Sophie Tredet.  Juarez, playing No. 2 Singles, finished 6-0 in the RMAC and is 14-4 overall.  Tredet, who was a pre-season All-RMAC pick, is 11-10 at No. 2 Singles.

MSUB had two doubles team All-RMAC honors.  Bekah Carlson and Chan earned first team honors while Johnna Beatty and Juarez made third team.  Carlson and Chan are 11-6 while Beatty and Juarez finished 5-2 in conference and are 9-8 overall.

The men had two all-conference selections.  Franco Valdez earned third team honors with a mark of 3-4 in the RMAC and 7-13 overall at No. 1 Singles.  Earning second team honors was the team of Delbert Landichio and Luis Olivera.
