Yellowjackets Fall and Rise in Polls
BILLINGS, Mont. - Montana State Billings both fell and rose in the softball polls for the week of Apr. 29. The Yellowjackets dropped from fourth to fifth in the NCAA Division II West Region Poll. In the NFCA Division II National Poll, MSUB moved up to 32nd, the fifth time they have received votes.
Humboldt State, the defending West regional champion, reclaimed the top spot as Dixie State fell to second. Hawaii Pacific stayed at third while Cal State Stanislaus moved from sixth to fourth.
Rounding out the top 10 are: Sonoma State (6th), UC San Diego (7th), Cal State Monterey Bay (8th), San Francisco State (9th) and Cal State Dominguez Hills (10th). MSUB is 1-0 against Sonoma State and 3-0 against CSU Dominguez Hills.
In the national poll, Alabama-Huntsville remained the number one ranked team for the fourth straight week. Rounding out the top five are North Georgia (2nd), Lock Haven (3rd), Angelo State (4th) and Valdosta State (5th). Among the west region team, Dixie State moved from 13th to 10th, Humboldt State fell from 8th to 11th and Hawaii Pacific went from 16th to 18th.
