Allen Joins the Softball Staff
BILLINGS, Mont. - Head Coach Tony Stone has gained a valuable asset with the hiring of Lisa Allen as an assistant coach at Montana State University Billings. She spent last season as an assistant coach at Middle Tennessee State. Allen, who has six years of coaching experience, began her duties on Aug. 15.
"I feel we are very fortunate that Lisa has chosen to continue her coaching career with Yellowjacket softball," said Stone. "Lisa has a lot of playing experience that will be invaluable to our program. Playing in regionals all four years at Oregon State, as well as her professional experience shows that she knows what it takes to get to the next level. The experience she gained in helping to guide Linfield College (Ore.) to the NCAA Division III National championship in 2007 will benefit our players greatly."
Allen had an outstanding career at Oregon State. She earned All Pac 10 honors twice and helped her team qualified for NCAA Regionals all four years. The Beavers went 166-91 during her career and in 2006, qualified for the NCAA Division I College World Series. Allen finished her career ranked among the top 10 career in at bats, RBI's, hits, doubles and home runs.
After college, Allen played on championship teams in the National Professional Fast-pitch (New England Riptide - 2006 and Austrian (Dornbirn Sharx - 2007) leagues. Allen has a BS in Exercise and Sports Science from OSU where she was on the honor roll all four years and a three team All Pac 10 All Academic selection.
