ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Montana State Billings men’s golf teams sits in ninth after the first two rounds of the Mustang Intercollegiate, hosted by Western New Mexico University. The Yellowjackets carded a 36-hole team score of 617 on the par 72, 7,324-yard course.
The University of New Mexico B Team currently is leading the ten-team field (278-281=559) shooting 17 under par, while Central Missouri is second (586) WNMU is third (591), Fort Lewis is fourth at 597.
Individually, the Lobos’ B Team has three of the top four scores in the tournament, including Parker Pemberton who leads the field after carding a pair of 67s today for a ten under 134. Justin Yoder of Central Missouri only is five strokes back at 139.
Mike Watson leads the way for MSUB as he is tied for 24th after shooting an eight over 152 (73-79) through 36 holes. Travis Gates is one stroke back and tied for 26th, followed by Jacob Harr (156 – T-36th), Jeff Allen (158 – T-43rd) and Michael Konrad who is tied for 48th with a 160 score.
Competing individually, MSUB’s Jeff Dalton is tied for 31st after firing a 79 and 76 for a 155 score. Also, Chris Richter is tied for 52nd with a 163 score after rounds of 79 and 84.
The field will conclude the tournament tomorrow with one 18-hole round.
