Yellowjacket Links Play Through Weather for Strong Showing at MSUB/Rocky Mountain Cup

BILLINGS, Mont. – The Montana State Billings men’s and women’s golf team played through adverse conditions Saturday afternoon on the first day of the spring portion of the MSUB/Rocky Mountain Cup. No team scores were available after the round. The women were led by Kalli Stanhope as she fired a 75, while Jeff Dalton and Michael Konrad paced the men with 74s at Peter Yegen Golf course.
The teams battled cold temperatures, wind, rain and sleet throughout the afternoon. In addition to Rocky Mountain, Montana Tech also participated in the tournament as well. Rounding out the men’s scores for MSUB saw Travis Gates fire a 75, while Mike Watson and Chris Richter carded 76s and Jake Harr had a 77.
On the women’s side, Stanhope carded a 75, followed by Lindsey Erickson with an 81, Amy Nordeen scored an 85, followed by Libby Rutz and Erin Heaney with an 86 and Breanna Magness with a 94.
The tournament is scheduled to continue tomorrow at 1 p.m. at Peter Yegen.
