Yellowjackets Finish Elco Inc., Intercollegiate with a 953 Team Score
Final Results
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The Montana State Billings men’s golf team shot a team score of 323 in the final round of the Elco Inc., Intercollegiate hosted by Cal State Bakersfield, Tuesday. The Yellowjackets shot 953 to finish in 19th place of 19 teams in the 54-hole event. MSUB is off until Mar. 15-17 when it travels to Albuquerque, N.M., to compete in the Mustang Invitational hosted by Western New Mexico.
Nova Southeastern University shot 850 to finish 14 under par and won by 15 strokes. Rounding out the top three was Sonoma State at 865 and Northeastern State at 868. Great Northwest Athletic Conference member, Western Washington, was fourth at 875, followed by Cal State Stanislaus at 876. Fellow GNAC member, Saint Martin’s was 14th at 909.
Claremont Mudd-Scripps’, Tarin Lee, shot a 72 to finish at 10-under (206) to win the individual title. Nova Southeastern’s Greg O’Mahony also shot 72 to finish at nine-under (207). In third place, six strokes back was Nova Southeastern’s Jack Bartlett (212).
The Yellowjackets were led by Jeff Allen who shot 78-77-81 for a 236. Travis Gates and Michael Konrad had the best rounds of the day for MSUB with each shooting a 79. Gates finish with a 237 while Konrad carded a 238. Mike Watson finished at 242 while Jacob Harr shot a 252.
