MSUB Men’s Basketball Opens 2008-09 Season at Gonzaga

BILLINGS, Mont. – The Montana State Billings men’s basketball team will open the George Pfeifer era at NCAA Division I powerhouse Gonzaga, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m., the school announced Tuesday.

“We are very excited about the opportunity to play at Gonzaga,” Pfeifer said.  “I have coached several times in ‘The Kennel’ and the environment is amazing.  Gonzaga is a legitimate preseason top 15 team with four guys who could be drafted in the NBA draft.  They are a veteran team with 10 players returning.”

In addition to playing a Division I opponent, the game is scheduled to be televised in the Northwest region.  Gonzaga is ranked as high as 13th nationally in the preseason and return 10 players from last year’s that finished the season with a 25-8 record and made its 14th NCAA Tournament appearance in the last 15 years.
