BILLINGS, Mont. – The snow was thick but it did not halt the Yellowjacket Invitational, Saturday morning. Shovels were the tool of the day as they were used to clear a path to the finish line. For the men, Black Hills State went 1-2-3-4 to score 19 points and win by 33. Montana State Billings scored 171 points to finish sixth of seven teams. On the women’s side, Black Hills State edged Jamestown College, 26-42 for first.
MSUB scored 102 points to finish fourth out of seven teams. The Yellowjackets are off until Saturday, Oct. 25, when they head to Ellensburg, Wash., to compete in the GNAC Championships.
For the men, Tyson Vanderby was the top finisher running 29:36 to place 26th. Rounding out the top five were Travis Hutchinson (32nd – 30:02), Taylor Canfield (36th – 30:15), Kelley Miller (38th – 30:37) and Scott Flatlip (39th – 31:12).
For the women, Dianna Stanley ran 21:16 to finish in 13th place. Rounding out the top five was Sarah Jackson (18th – 21:56), Katie Thiel (19th – 22:13), Mykel Ler (23rd – 22:29) and Malori Woodford (29th – 22:52).
