MSUB Gets Ready for GNAC Championships
BILLINGS, Mont. – Montana State Billings is all ready for its first big test of the season, the GNAC Cross Country Championships in Ellensburg, Wash., Saturday, Oct. 25. The men will be competing in an 8 K race while the women will be running a 6K for the first time this season.
For the men, Taylor Canfield, Travis Hutchinson and Tyson Vanderby have been the top runners this season. Canfield ran 29:32 at the Montana Invitational (Oct. 4) for the best 8K time of the season. Hutchinson and Vanderby have been among the top two jackets in four meets a piece this season. Vanderby has been the top runner in three meets. No. 13 Western Washington is the favorite for its third straight title.
On the women’s side, Dianna Stanley and Sarah Jackson will lead the Yellowjackets into battle. Stanley is the only runner on either squad who has finished among the top two at all five meets. She was the number one runner in all of the races except for the Montana Invitational (Oct. 4). Jackson has been among the top two in all four races she has run. She was the top Yellowjacket at the Montana Invitational. No. 17 Seattle Pacific is looking for its third straight title and fifth in the last six years.
