Baseball Signs Noraker During Early Signing Period
BILLINGS, Mont. – Montana State Billings head baseball coach, Chris Brown, announced Tuesday that Dustin Noraker has signed a national letter of intent to play at MSUB in 2009-2010.
“We are excited to have Dusty join Yellowjacket Baseball,” Brown said. “He is a big, strong, athletic player that will add some “pop” to the lineup from the left side. He has had success at every level and has done well playing in the ultra-competitive Jayhawk Community College League (Kansas), which is one of the best JC leagues in the country.”
Noraker comes to MSUB from Garden City Community College in Garden City, Kan., where he played first base as a freshman in 2008 and will conclude his sophomore year this season before transferring to MSUB for the 2009-10 season.
Noraker grew up in Bozeman, Mont., but attended high school at Cherokee Trail in Aurora, Colo., where he helped lead his team to a state championship in 2007. He was honorable mention all-state as a junior and earned second team all-state honors as a senior, as well as second team all-conference and first team all-city. He hit .315 with two home runs, eight doubles and one triple.
In addition to a state championship in 2007, Cherokee Trail were conference champions in 2006 and 2007 as well as district champs and regional champs both years.
“He is a hard working student and athlete that brings a lot of intangibles to the table,” Brown added. “Dusty is a “lunch box” guy that comes to work and play hard every day. He will also bring great pride, passion, toughness, and purpose to our team on the field, in the classroom, and in the locker room. We will look for him to step in and contribute on and off the field right away.”
