Frank and Moore Earn GNAC Weekly Hardware

BILLINGS, Mont. – After an impressive week for the Montana State Billings softball team, senior Jessica Frank and junior Lisa Moore picked up some weekly hardware as they both were named Great Northwest Athletic Conference Player and Co-Pitcher of the Week, respectively.

Frank continued her impressive senior campaign helping the Yellowjackets to a 5-1 road record this week, including a sweep of then-first-place Central Washington.  She hit .542 in six games this week as she led the team with 13 hits, six extra base hits in 24 at bats.  Frank had two doubles, two triples, two home runs and nine RBI for a 1.042 slugging percentage and 25 total  bases.  In a game at Northwest Nazarene on Saturday, she went 3 for 5 with two triples.  On Saturday in a doubleheader sweep of NNU, she went 7 of 10, a double, two triples, one home run, six RBI and 15 total bases.

For the season, she leads the team with three triples, nine home runs, 28 RBI and 84 total bases.  She is slugging a team-best .730 on the year and is leading the team in stolen bases with 12 of 13 swipes.

Moore, also had a very impressive week as she was named co-pitcher of the week.  Moore went 4-0 this week with a 1.94 ERA.  She won both decisions as MSUB swept a doubleheader at Central Washington who was in first-place in the GNAC at the time.  She made five appearances with three starts and three complete games in 21.2 innings of work.  She allowed 17 hits, nine runs –six earned, 21 strikeouts and eight walks.  Opponents hit just .213 against her.  In the series with CWU, she pitched a masterful performance, allowing just one run and three hits in the opener and relieved Rebekah Tsatsa in the nightcap, picking up the victory in a 4-3 win.

The Yellowjackets continue on the road with doubleheaders at Western Oregon and at Saint Martin’s Friday and Sunday, respectively.
